Kala Nera

Coming down from Milies back to the coast on the Pagasitikos Gulf we find the villages of Kala Nera (Good Water), Kato Gatzea, Platanidia and Agria.

Kala Nera is a very popular holiday resort. It is not too far to drive from Volos and many Voliotes will drive out to have a swim in the sea and sample the food at the many tavernas here.

Kato Gatzea is the seaside village twin of Ano Gatzea in the hills above. Here you will find very well organised camp-sites and also tavernas serving tsipouro (a purer form of ouzo) and small snacks.

Driving back towards Volos you can visit the beaches of Malaki and Platanidia.
