KALAMAKI, KANAPITSA & KOUTSOURI BEACHES

 
The Kalamaki Peninsular was the first to be developed with only villas and has retained its exclusivity.

The road goes from bus stop 12 to 13 right around the peninsular and is a wonderful walk of around an hours duration. Go from bus stop 13 around to 12 in the morning with views to Tsoungria and Skopelos Islands and the Town of Skiathos, or the other way in the evening, looking towards the setting sun, Evvia and the Pelion Peninsular.

 
Kanapitsa Beach, 2 kilometres from bus stop 12, used to be THE beach to be seen at many years ago but is now not so popular as it once was.
It is now a relaxed family beach and is never too crowded.
It has a good taverna and a water sports school.
Like Tzaneria Beach, around the corner, the prevailing north-east breeze blows directly onshore and helps keep one cool in the summer months. 

Behind the beach is the Hotel Plaza with a swimming pool, restaurant and snack bar.

Regular taxi boats from town service this and Tzaneria Beach.

 
Half way around the peninsular and down a steepish footpath is the beach of Koutsouri. It is a 5 minute walk down and a 10 minute stagger up. There is room for parking on the road.

The beach is smallish but because it is not so easy to reach, is never very busy. Some trip boats call in here to sample the food at the good little beach hut taverna here.

 

 

 
Around the rocks from Koutsouri is the small but beautiful beach of Delfiniki (Little Dolphin). This can be reached from the sea by boat, or swimming and rock scrambling from Koutsouri, or by a hard to find footpath down from the road.
